I'm sorry that you even have to write about transphobia, let alone experience it. I'm always grateful for your perspective. And I am glad to see that beautiful poem again. 🧡
Thank you, A. I hope that one day, anti-trans efforts won't exist. Maybe the concept of gender will no longer exist at all. For now though, both do. I appreciate you taking the time to read and also the generosity of your words! <3
That poem 🪺🍄🪺🍄🪺🍄 Thank you for this reflection and circumscription of the current pain that is so real to so many and is being wielded so irresponsibly and violently and symbolically with so little care for life (or with a grave misunderstanding of what it means to care for human lives). I’m so sorry we are here, and that so many needing protection are being thrashed and dehumanized and betrayed. It feels so revealing about the true violence of our structures. Who is actually being protected? A very small, almost singular, sliver of people who make up an unfair (and mythical) advantage 🌘 It is dark times indeed. Thank you for shining your light in our darkness, friend.
Thank you for the mushrooms and birds eggs on my poem, friend. And for reading and reflecting. Sadly, I don't think anyone, not even a small sliver, are being protected by anti-trans policies (I have yet to come across any viable data to support any of the "threats" or "dangers" that the policies are meant to "protect" against). Even the peace of mind that some may feel, or claim to feel, from such policies is a red herring that both concretizes the fear and leads further away from resolving the the wounds that are the real source of fear. Anyway. I could go on and on, but just thank you for caring <3
Ah! What a great point. I think I sort of meant egos and illusions were being protected but you are so so right. Everyone loses when we do not recognize the dignity and rights of every being/body, yes? Thanks for helping me get clearer on that. (I definitely think these policies guard fear and dangerous hate and you are right they allow wounds to fester.) 💞💞
I’m at a loss for words, this is all just so heartbreaking. We have lost far too many gentle, magical people 💔 Standing with you and our trans siblings now and always ❤️ May our networks of mutual aid just get stronger over the coming years 🙏
Thank you, Lauren. Yes. At a vigil last night for TDoR, we read the names and some details of the lives lost this past year. For every name of every trans or enby body lost, there are a gazillion beautiful, interesting, poignant details unique to that name that have also been lost.
What a beautiful piece. Thank you. I have forwarded to caring friends.
Thank you so much, Val - I so appreciate this support! <3
Well said. Thank you for sharing this beautiful wisdom. 💔
Thank you, Rachel...so great to see you here : )
Again, you are an outstanding writer. Your work always gives me insight and things to think about. Much love to you Keith!
Thank you so much, Billy - deeply appreciate this! <3
